Overview

FECS-Ad is an allogeneic cell therapy consisting of three-dimensional (3D) clusters of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). Developed by S.Biomedics using their proprietary Functionally Enhanced Cell Sphere (FECS) technology, the product organizes cells into spheroids to enhance their survival, engraftment, and therapeutic potency compared to standard 2D-cultured single-cell suspensions. The therapy is primarily being investigated for the treatment of critical limb ischemia (CLI), where it aims to promote revascularization and tissue regeneration through the secretion of various angiogenic and anti-inflammatory factors, such as VEGF and HGF. By delivering these cell clusters via intramuscular injection, the treatment seeks to restore blood flow and prevent amputation in patients with advanced peripheral artery disease.
