FECS-DF is a cell therapy product developed for dermal layer remodeling and skin regeneration. It consists of fibroblasts with enhanced collagenase (MMP-1) and collagen production abilities compared to conventional 2D fibroblasts. The mechanism involves the decomposition of old fibrous tissues in the dermal layer by collagenase (MMP-1), followed by new collagen synthesis, which supports tissue repair and rejuvenation. This approach is expected to improve outcomes in conditions requiring skin regeneration or wound healing. Developed by S.Biomedics, FECS-DF is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development for indications related to skin regeneration and other diseases involving tissue remodeling. Its primary innovation lies in its superior ability to remodel the dermal extracellular matrix compared to standard fibroblast therapies.
