Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FeiPingFang is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbal formulation developed and primarily utilized at Longhua Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is specifically designed to treat chronic respiratory diseases, most notably idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The formulation's primary therapeutic mechanism involves the modulation of the Transforming Growth Factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1)/Smad signaling pathway, which effectively inhibits epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and reduces the deposition of extracellular matrix proteins like collagen in lung tissue. In clinical oncology, FeiPingFang is frequently used as an adjuvant therapy to overcome resistance to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and to mitigate the side effects of conventional treatments by regulating inflammatory cytokines and enhancing immune function.
