Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fel-O-Guard is a brand of veterinary vaccines for cats, designed to provide protection against various feline diseases. Specific formulations under this brand, such as Fel-O-Guard Plus 4 (now marketed as TruFel HCP+CH), protect against Feline Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, and Chlamydia psittaci. Other variants, like Fel-O-Guard Plus 3 + Lv-K (now TruFel HCP+FELV), also include protection against Feline Leukemia virus. These vaccines typically utilize a combination of modified live viruses for core diseases (Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia) and killed antigens for others (Chlamydia psittaci, Feline Leukemia virus) to stimulate an immune response. The vaccine is administered subcutaneously to healthy cats eight weeks of age or older. The Fel-O-Guard vaccine portfolio was originally developed by Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica and later acquired by Elanco Animal Health.
