Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fel-O-Vax is a brand name for a series of killed virus vaccines primarily used in veterinary medicine to protect healthy cats against feline infectious diseases. Specific formulations target feline leukemia virus (FeLV), feline rhinotracheitis virus (FHV-1), feline calicivirus (FCV), feline panleukopenia virus (FPV), and sometimes Chlamydia felis or other pathogens, administered subcutaneously to cats 8-10 weeks of age or older as part of primary vaccination series with boosters. Developed and manufactured by Elanco (following acquisition from Boehringer Ingelheim), these inactivated vaccines stimulate humoral immunity without viral replication, aiding in disease prevention in high-risk environments like multi-cat households or shelters.[1][3][4][5][6][16]
