Fel-O-Vax 4

Fel-O-Vax 4 is a multivalent, inactivated (killed virus and bacteria) vaccine developed for the active immunization of healthy cats and kittens eight weeks of age or older. It provides protection against four major feline pathogens: feline herpesvirus-1 (the cause of feline viral rhinotracheitis), feline calicivirus (including the hemorrhagic VS-FCV strain), feline panleukopenia virus (feline distemper), and *Chlamydophila felis* (formerly *Chlamydia psittaci*). The vaccine works by stimulating an immune response against these inactivated pathogens to reduce clinical signs and severity of disease. Originally a product of Fort Dodge Animal Health, the vaccine was part of the portfolio acquired by Boehringer Ingelheim and subsequently divested to Elanco Animal Health in 2017. It is administered via subcutaneous injection, typically in a two-dose primary series followed by annual revaccination.
