femicept

Femicept is a combined oral contraceptive tablet containing two active ingredients: levonorgestrel (150 micrograms) and ethinylestradiol (30 micrograms)[2][8]. It belongs to the class of estrogen-progestogen combination contraceptives, commonly referred to as "the Pill." The primary mechanism of action is inhibition of ovulation via suppression of the hypothalamo-pituitary–ovarian axis, specifically preventing the mid-cycle surge in luteinising hormone. Additional contraceptive effects include thickening cervical mucus to impede sperm penetration and altering the endometrium to reduce receptivity for implantation[2]. Femicept is indicated for pregnancy prevention. Its efficacy and safety are supported by bioequivalence studies comparing it with established reference products such as Microgynon 30[2].
