Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Femiflor is an oral dietary supplement developed by Laboratoires Élerté, specifically formulated to support gynecological health by maintaining the balance of the vaginal microbiota. It contains a combination of two probiotic strains, *Lactobacillus rhamnosus* Rosell-11 and *Lactobacillus helveticus* Rosell-52, along with Vitamin B2 (riboflavin). These probiotics work by colonizing the intestinal tract and subsequently the vaginal environment, where they produce lactic acid to maintain an acidic pH and competitively inhibit the growth of pathogens such as *Candida albicans* and bacteria associated with bacterial vaginosis. Vitamin B2 is included to support the maintenance of healthy mucous membranes. Femiflor is primarily used as a complementary approach to prevent or manage vaginal dysbiosis and recurrent gynecological infections.
