Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FemSeven is a range of transdermal hormone replacement therapy (HRT) patches marketed by Theramex. The product line includes FemSeven (estradiol only), FemSeven Conti (estradiol and levonorgestrel), and FemSeven Sequi (estradiol and levonorgestrel in a sequential phase). Estradiol, a small molecule estrogen, works by supplementing declining hormone levels in menopausal women to alleviate symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats. In the combination versions (Conti and Sequi), levonorgestrel is included as a progestogen to protect the lining of the womb (endometrium) from hyperplasia, which can be caused by unopposed estrogen. The patches are designed for once-weekly application, providing sustained release of the active ingredients through the skin.
