Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fenfuro is a proprietary, patented formulation derived from the seeds of *Trigonella foenum-graecum* (fenugreek), standardized to contain a high concentration of furostanolic saponins. It is primarily used as a phytotherapeutic dietary supplement for the management of hyperglycemia and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Clinical studies have demonstrated that Fenfuro significantly reduces fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels as well as glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in diabetic patients when used alongside standard antidiabetic therapies such as metformin or sulfonylureas[2][7][8]. The mechanism of action involves improving insulin sensitivity, decreasing insulin resistance, delaying gastric emptying, inhibiting glucose transport by blocking lipid and carbohydrate-hydrolyzing enzymes, and increasing tissue responsiveness to insulin through upregulation of insulin receptor sites[6]. Fenfuro has shown a favorable safety profile with no significant adverse effects reported in clinical trials[2][7][8]. It may also be used for digestive disorders and menstrual pain relief due to its broad nutritional properties[4].
