Overview
fenoterol + ipratropium + beclomethasone is a triple combination therapy being investigated by Assiut University for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), specifically in patients who are frequent exacerbators. This combination includes a short-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist (SABA), fenoterol, which induces bronchodilation by relaxing airway smooth muscle; a short-acting muscarinic antagonist (SAMA), ipratropium bromide, which blocks the bronchoconstrictor effects of acetylcholine; and an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS), beclomethasone dipropionate, which provides potent anti-inflammatory activity. The therapy is designed to provide both rapid symptomatic relief and long-term control of airway inflammation to reduce the frequency and severity of COPD exacerbations.
