Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fenretinide Lym-X-Sorb is an oral pharmaceutical formulation designed to enhance the bioavailability of Fenretinide, a synthetic retinoid derivative. Fenretinide acts as an anticancer agent primarily by inducing apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells, often through mechanisms involving increased intracellular ceramide levels and reactive oxygen species production. It also inhibits cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and metastasis. The Lym-X-Sorb component is a lipid matrix delivery system composed of lysophosphatidylcholine, monoglyceride, and fatty acid, which facilitates the lymphatic absorption of lipophilic drugs like Fenretinide, thereby improving its systemic exposure and therapeutic potential.
