Overview

FEP600 is a small molecule chemical drug developed by PRISM BioLab. It acts as a mimetic compound to the endogenous protein 4E-BP1 and functions by suppressing the binding of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) to eIF4G1. This inhibition disrupts cap-dependent translation initiation, a process often upregulated in advanced tumors due to increased phosphorylation of 4E-BP1 via mTORC1 signaling. Preclinical studies using patient-derived xenograft models from urothelial carcinoma have shown that FEP600 can be more efficacious than cisplatin, the current standard of care for certain types of muscle invasive and metastatic urothelial carcinoma[2][1].
