Overview

Fepradinol is a small molecule aralkylamine with analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties. It has been used for the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with conditions such as arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders. Fepradinol acts primarily as a beta‑adrenergic receptor antagonist (beta-blocker), which leads to decreased heart rate and reduced cardiac workload. Its anti-inflammatory activity does not appear to be related to inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis—a mechanism that distinguishes it from traditional NSAIDs. Preclinical studies have shown that it can inhibit both early and late phases of inflammatory responses more effectively than indomethacin in some models[2][4][6]. Clinical trials have explored its use in allergic contact dermatitis as well.
