Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Feralgine** is a proprietary oral iron-repletion ingredient consisting of a spray-dried, co-processed 1:1 complex of ferrous bisglycinate chelate and sodium alginate. It supplies bioavailable ferrous iron for correction of iron deficiency and iron-deficiency anemia, while alginate co-processing is intended to improve gastrointestinal distribution, tolerability, and oral absorption. It has been studied in iron-deficiency anemia, including patients with celiac disease and inflammatory bowel disease, and is incorporated into the Laboratori Baldacci dietary-supplement product Tecnofer Plus.
