Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FeraMAX Pd is an oral iron supplement developed and marketed by BioSyent, utilizing a patented Polydextrose-Iron Complex (PIC) delivery system. Launched in Canada in 2020 as an evolution of the original FeraMAX 150, it is indicated for the prevention and treatment of iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia. The PIC technology employs a non-ionic formulation where elemental iron is stable and sequestered within a polydextrose shell. This structure prevents the release of free ionic iron in the stomach, which significantly improves gastrointestinal tolerability and reduces common side effects such as nausea, constipation, and epigastric pain compared to traditional ferrous salts. FeraMAX Pd is available in multiple formats, including Therapeutic 150 capsules and pediatric drops.
