Ferantsel is a combination topical medication developed by the Research Institute for Physical Chemical Problems of the Belarusian State University. It is specifically designed for the treatment of purulent-inflammatory processes, including infected wounds, burns, and trophic ulcers. The preparation is a multi-component system consisting of monocarboxycellulose, which serves as a biodegradable, biocompatible carrier and absorbent; feracryl, an iron-containing polyacrylic acid derivative that provides rapid hemostasis and broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity; and trypsin, a proteolytic enzyme that facilitates the enzymatic debridement of necrotic tissues. This synergistic combination allows for the simultaneous cleaning of the wound bed, prevention of infection, and cessation of capillary bleeding, thereby accelerating the healing process in complex wound conditions.
