Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ferfer is a multi-ingredient dietary supplement developed by PharmEvo, primarily designed to address nutritional deficiencies, specifically iron deficiency and anemia. Its formulation features micro-encapsulated iron pyrophosphate, which creates a liposomal delivery system. This phospholipid bilayer encapsulation helps to protect the iron from the acidic environment of the stomach and reduces the direct contact of iron with the intestinal mucosa, thereby minimizing common gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea and constipation while enhancing bioavailability. In addition to iron, Ferfer contains vitamin C (ascorbic acid) to facilitate the intestinal absorption of iron and vitamin B12 to support healthy erythropoiesis (red blood cell production). The combination is used to restore hemoglobin and hematocrit levels in patients with increased organic iron needs or dietary shortages.
