Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Jinshuibao is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) whose active ingredient is fermented Cordyceps sinensis mycelia powder, also known as Cs-4. It is developed and manufactured by Jiangxi Jinshuibao Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of Jemincare. It is considered a modern equivalent to wild Cordyceps sinensis, produced through a fermentation process. [2, 17] Jinshuibao is purported to have a wide range of benefits, including anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory effects. [2] In China, it is approved for conditions related to lung and kidney deficiencies, such as chronic bronchitis and chronic renal failure, and is also used for hyperlipidemia and liver cirrhosis. [8, 5] Clinical trials are investigating its use for radiation pneumonitis, recovery from COVID-19, and chronic kidney disease.
