Ferric cation (Fe3+) is the oxidized, trivalent ionic form of iron. It is a fundamental inorganic ion involved in a wide array of biological and chemical processes. In biological systems, it plays a critical role in iron metabolism, electron transfer reactions, and as a component of various proteins and enzymes.
