Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ferrotron is a multi-ingredient hematinic supplement and nutraceutical designed for the treatment and prevention of iron deficiency anemia. Its primary active component is iron in the form of an amino acid chelate, which is formulated to enhance intestinal absorption and minimize common gastrointestinal side effects associated with traditional iron salts, such as constipation and epigastric pain. Beyond iron, Ferrotron contains a synergistic complex of essential vitamins and minerals—including folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin C, zinc, and copper—that act as cofactors in erythropoiesis (red blood cell production) and hemoglobin synthesis. It is commonly prescribed or recommended for pregnant women, individuals with nutritional deficiencies, or those experiencing chronic blood loss.
