Fertiline (also known as cpFT) is a cyclic peptide developed by Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) for the treatment of infertility, specifically to improve outcomes in women undergoing intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). The drug is a synthetic peptide derived from the disintegrin domain of the ADAM2 protein (Fertilin β), which mimics the natural binding site involved in sperm-oocyte interaction. Fertiline targets the integrin α6β1 receptor on the surface of oocytes. In clinical applications, it is used to supplement the pre-ICSI incubation medium of oocytes and the culture medium of preimplantation embryos. This intervention is designed to enhance fertilization rates, improve embryo development, and increase hatching capacity, with the ultimate goal of improving live birth rates. It is currently being evaluated in the Phase 3 FERTICSI clinical trial.
