Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fertisera is a combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by MMC Pharmaceuticals, specifically designed for the management of female infertility and gynecological health. It is primarily indicated for women with diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) or those identified as poor ovarian responders (POR) undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures such as IVF. The formulation typically consists of micronized Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) in a sustained-release form, Melatonin, and Folic Acid. DHEA acts as a pro-hormone precursor to intracellular androgens and estrogens, which are critical for early follicular recruitment and improving oocyte quality. Melatonin serves as a potent antioxidant within the follicular microenvironment, protecting developing oocytes from oxidative stress-induced damage. Folic Acid is included to support DNA synthesis and cellular division, while also providing essential periconceptional prophylaxis against neural tube defects.
