Overview

**Feverfew CO2-extract** (MIG-99) is a standardized extract of *Tanacetum parthenium* (feverfew), produced using supercritical carbon dioxide extraction. This process yields a stable herbal product highly enriched in parthenolide, considered the main active ingredient. MIG-99 has been specifically investigated for the prophylactic treatment of migraine. Its mechanism of action is not definitively established, but putative mechanisms include inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, interference with contractile and relaxant mechanisms in blood vessels, and inhibition of serotonin (5-HT) release from platelets[1][2][3][7]. MIG-99 has undergone phase II and III clinical trials for migraine prevention, demonstrating a reduction in migraine attack frequency and favorable safety and tolerability profiles[1][2][3][7]. It is formulated for oral administration.
