Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fexadyne is a brand-name antihistamine medication manufactured by ARGES Life Science Limited, a pharmaceutical company based in Bangladesh. The active ingredient is fexofenadine hydrochloride, a second-generation, non-sedating selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist. It acts as an inverse agonist that binds to and stabilizes the inactive form of the H1 histamine receptor, thereby preventing the physiological effects of histamine release. Fexadyne is indicated for the symptomatic relief of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, including symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, and itchy eyes, nose, or throat, as well as for the treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives). Because it does not readily cross the blood-brain barrier, it lacks the significant sedative effects associated with first-generation antihistamines, making it suitable for daily use.
