Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fexofenadine + pseudoephedrine is a fixed-dose combination of two active ingredients used to treat symptoms associated with seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever), such as nasal congestion (stuffy nose), sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, hives, skin rash, and itching. Fexofenadine is a second-generation antihistamine that works by selectively blocking peripheral histamine H1 receptors to reduce allergy symptoms. Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic decongestant that acts primarily by stimulating alpha-adrenergic receptors in the respiratory tract mucosa to produce vasoconstriction and shrink swollen nasal passages. The combination provides both antihistaminic relief of allergy symptoms and decongestant action for nasal congestion[1][2][3][4][5].
