Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NVP-2203 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) tablet developed by NVP Healthcare, consisting of fexofenadine hydrochloride and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. Fexofenadine is a second-generation, non-sedating antihistamine that acts as a selective peripheral H1-receptor antagonist, providing relief from allergic symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, and itchy eyes. Pseudoephedrine is a sympathomimetic amine that serves as a nasal decongestant by stimulating alpha-adrenergic receptors in the respiratory mucosa, leading to vasoconstriction and reduced tissue swelling. NVP-2203 is formulated as a sustained-release tablet to provide prolonged therapeutic effects and improve patient compliance. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, particularly when both antihistamine and decongestant actions are required. As of 2023, the drug has progressed to Phase 3 clinical trials in South Korea.
