Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ALC-F011 is an incrementally modified drug (IMD) developed by **Korea Arlico Pharm** for the treatment of acid-related digestive disorders, such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It is a fixed-dose combination consisting of **fexuprazan**, a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB), and **sodium bicarbonate**, an antacid. Fexuprazan provides rapid and sustained suppression of gastric acid by reversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells. The addition of sodium bicarbonate is intended to provide an immediate neutralizing effect on existing gastric acid, potentially accelerating the onset of symptom relief and enhancing the stability of the P-CAB component. The drug is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials in South Korea to evaluate its pharmacokinetic profile and safety compared to its individual components.
