Fezakinumab is a fully human IgG1-lambda monoclonal antibody that targets interleukin-22 (IL-22), a cytokine involved in inflammatory and autoimmune responses. By binding to IL-22, fezakinumab inhibits its interaction with the IL-22 receptor, thereby blocking downstream signaling pathways that drive inflammation. The drug was originally developed by Wyeth and further developed by Pfizer after their acquisition of Wyeth. Fezakinumab has been investigated primarily for the treatment of atopic dermatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriasis. Clinical trials have shown it can reduce disease severity in severe atopic dermatitis patients and has also been studied in rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis[1][3][5][6][7].
