FEZF1-AS1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) FEZF1-AS1. In the context of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), FEZF1-AS1 is frequently overexpressed and contributes to cisplatin resistance by acting as a competitive endogenous RNA (ceRNA) that sponges miR-32-5p. This sequestration prevents miR-32-5p from inhibiting its target, Glutaminase (GLS), a key enzyme in glutamine metabolism. By delivering FEZF1-AS1 siRNA, the levels of the lncRNA are reduced, which restores miR-32-5p activity, downregulates GLS expression, and consequently sensitizes cancer cells to cisplatin-based chemotherapy. Experimental studies in NSCLC cell lines and xenograft mouse models have demonstrated that blocking FEZF1-AS1 can effectively overcome chemoresistance.
