Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FF UD-DPI (Fluticasone Furoate Unit Dose Dry Powder Inhaler) is an investigational inhaled corticosteroid formulation developed by GSK. The active ingredient is fluticasone furoate, a potent synthetic glucocorticoid with high receptor binding affinity, enhanced lipophilicity, and low solubility. FF UD-DPI is designed as an alternative, potentially more accessible inhaler platform to deliver fluticasone furoate, particularly aimed at improving access to respiratory therapies in developing countries. It has been evaluated in a Phase 1 pharmacokinetic study comparing its systemic exposure and safety profile to the approved ELLIPTA dry powder inhaler presentation in healthy volunteers.
