Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FG-M701 (also known as ABBV-701) is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. It targets Tumor necrosis factor-like cytokine 1A (TL1A), a clinically validated target in IBD. The drug is engineered to potentially offer best-in-class efficacy and less frequent dosing compared to first-generation TL1A antibodies. Initially developed by FutureGen Biopharmaceutical, AbbVie has obtained exclusive global rights to develop, manufacture, and commercialize the therapy. As of April 2025, it is in Phase 1 clinical trials.
