Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FG002 is a preclinical-stage fluorophore-labeled imaging agent being developed by FluoGuide for use in fluorescence-guided surgery (FGS). It is designed to bind specifically to an undisclosed cancer-specific biomarker, distinct from the uPAR target addressed by the company's lead candidate, FG001. By labeling tumor cells with a fluorescent signal, FG002 enables surgeons to visualize tumor margins and small metastases in real-time during surgical procedures. This technology aims to improve the precision of cancer surgery, facilitating the complete resection of malignant tissue while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy structures, ultimately seeking to reduce cancer recurrence rates.
