Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FGF-2 gene-carrying Sendai virus vector (also known as DVC1-0101 or ΔFSeV/FGF-2) is an investigational gene therapy developed by ID Pharma (a subsidiary of I'rom Holdings) for the treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD), including intermittent claudication and critical limb ischemia (CLI). It utilizes an F (fusion) gene-deleted, non-transmissible recombinant Sendai virus (rSeV) vector to deliver the human fibroblast growth factor-2 (FGF-2) transgene directly into target muscle tissue via intramuscular injection. Upon expression, the human FGF-2 protein promotes therapeutic angiogenesis and vascular regeneration by inducing endogenous angiogenic factors such as VEGF and HGF. The candidate has been evaluated in Phase I/IIa and Phase IIb clinical trials in Japan.
