Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FGF1CP43 (also known as M43) is a thermally stable recombinant human fibroblast growth factor 1 (FGF1) analogue developed by Celon Pharma in collaboration with the University of Wroclaw. It contains five specific mutations (Q55P, S62I, H108G, S114A, and L150D) designed to separate the glucose-lowering metabolic effects of FGF1 from its proliferative (mitogenic) properties. FGF1CP43 exhibits a high denaturation temperature of approximately 63°C, decreased binding affinity to the FGFR1IIIc receptor domain, and increased binding affinity to the insulin receptor (InsR). It is currently in preclinical development for the treatment of type 2 diabetes, obesity, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD).
