An FGFR-2 antibody is a monoclonal or polyclonal antibody designed to target fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2), a receptor tyrosine kinase involved in cell proliferation, survival, and migration. Aberrant FGFR2 signaling, including overexpression, mutations, and gene fusions, is implicated in various cancers such as gastric, breast, ovarian, and prostate cancers, as well as cholangiocarcinoma. Therapeutic FGFR2 antibodies, such as bemarituzumab, act by blocking ligand binding and downstream signaling pathways (like MAPK and PI3K/Akt) or by mediating antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC). Additionally, FGFR2 antibodies are widely used as research reagents for immunohistochemistry, western blotting, and flow cytometry to study FGFR2 expression in tissues and cell lines.
