FGI-101-1A6

FGI-101-1A6 is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody developed as a first-in-class, broad-spectrum antiviral agent. It targets the host protein tumor susceptibility gene 101 (TSG101), which becomes localized on the surface of cells infected by various viruses, including HIV, influenza, and poxviruses. By binding to TSG101 expressed on infected cells—but not healthy cells—FGI-101-1A6 selectively targets and eliminates virus-infected cells. This mechanism is independent of viral genetic variation or resistance mutations. The drug was developed by Functional Genetics and has completed a Phase 1 clinical trial in healthy volunteers for safety and pharmacokinetics in the context of influenza infection[2][3][5][8].
