Fh15 is a recombinant fatty acid-binding protein (FABP) derived from the helminth parasite *Fasciola hepatica*. It acts as a Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) antagonist, possessing potent anti-inflammatory properties. Developed by researchers at the University of Puerto Rico, Fh15 has been shown to suppress the pathological presentations of ulcerative colitis in murine models by reducing disease activity, histopathological scores, and inflammatory markers such as myeloperoxidase (MPO), CHI3L1, and S100. Additionally, Fh15 has demonstrated efficacy in murine and non-human primate models of sepsis, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic for various TLR4-mediated inflammatory conditions.
