Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**FhCMB HAI-05** is a recombinant influenza vaccine candidate developed by the Fraunhofer USA Center for Molecular Biotechnology (FhCMB) using a plant-based transient expression system. It consists of a recombinant hemagglutinin (HA) protein, specifically designed as a poly-histidine-tagged monomer based on an H5N1 influenza strain, aimed at eliciting protective immune responses against avian influenza. Pre-clinical studies in mice, rabbits, and ferrets demonstrated its immunogenicity and safety, supporting advancement to clinical evaluation for pandemic preparedness.[2][6]
