Overview

FHL-101 is a small molecule new chemical entity (NCE) being developed by FHL Therapeutics, a division of Forest Hills Lab, for the treatment of Parkinson's disease (PD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). The drug's mechanism of action involves promoting the endogenous generation of Glial cell-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF), a potent neurotrophic factor that supports the survival and function of dopaminergic neurons, suppresses neuroinflammation, and prevents neuronal death. By increasing GDNF levels, FHL-101 aims to restore dopamine production and provide disease-modifying effects in neurodegenerative conditions. FHL-101 has successfully completed a Phase 1 double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial, demonstrating a favorable safety and tolerability profile.
