Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FHND1002 is a novel small molecule oral therapy developed by Jiangsu Chia Tai Fenghai Pharmaceutical for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and neuronal trauma. It acts as an mRNA translation promotive agent by hindering the phosphorylation of eukaryotic initiation factor 2 alpha (eIF2α), thereby stimulating neuronal protein synthesis and promoting axon regeneration. Preclinical studies have demonstrated efficacy in models of Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injury, and peripheral nerve injury, showing improvements in motor function and neuroprotection. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase II clinical trials for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and has completed Phase I safety and pharmacokinetic studies in healthy volunteers.
