FI6v3-mimetic peptide is an experimental peptide-based therapeutic asset developed by Pepscan, designed to target the hemagglutinin (HA) protein of the Influenza A virus. Utilizing Pepscan's proprietary CLIPS (Chemical Linkage of Peptides onto Scaffolds) technology, the peptide is engineered to structurally mimic the highly conserved stem epitope recognized by the broadly neutralizing antibody FI6v3. FI6v3 is a well-characterized human monoclonal antibody capable of neutralizing a wide range of Influenza A subtypes from both group 1 and group 2. By binding to this critical, conserved region of the HA protein, the peptide aims to inhibit the conformational changes required for viral-host membrane fusion, thereby preventing viral entry. This approach represents a potential broad-spectrum therapeutic or synthetic vaccine candidate intended to provide protection against both seasonal and pandemic influenza strains, potentially overcoming the limitations of traditional strain-specific interventions.
