Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FIB-992 is a small molecule ATP-competitive kinase inhibitor characterized by exquisite selectivity. It is being developed by Fibrocor Therapeutics for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a debilitating and deadly fibrotic disease with limited treatment options. The compound was identified through Fibrocor's translational target discovery platform, which utilizes patient-derived tissue samples from one of the world's largest fibrosis tissue biobanks. FIB-992 underwent clinical candidate nomination in 2024 and was initially planned to enter Phase 1 clinical trials in 2024, though current status indicates it remains in preclinical development as of early 2025.
