Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Fibore** is an investigational topical boron-based gel containing 3% sodium pentaborate pentahydrate. It has been studied for prevention of radiation dermatitis in patients receiving radiotherapy for breast cancer. Its proposed activity includes antioxidant and skin-protective effects, potentially involving increased glutathione activity, modulation of inflammatory cytokines and tissue-remodeling enzymes, improved skin hydration, and support of wound healing. A completed randomized, double-blind Phase 3 trial evaluated the gel for prevention of radiotherapy-associated dermatitis.
