Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Fibore** is a topical boron-based gel formulation containing sodium pentaborate pentahydrate, developed by Tabriz University of Medical Sciences for prevention of radiation dermatitis in patients receiving radiotherapy for breast cancer. The locally applied formulation is intended to reduce radiation-associated skin injury through antioxidant and skin-protective effects, including increased glutathione activity, with potential effects on inflammatory mediators, tissue-remodeling enzymes, hydration, and wound-healing processes. Fibore was evaluated in the randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled Phase III trial NCT04239560.
