Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Fibroblast growth factor 4 (FGF4) is a protein involved in various biological processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and immune modulation. It is being investigated for its potential therapeutic applications in conditions such as triple-negative breast cancer, alcohol-associated liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, spinal cord injury, and type 2 diabetes. FGF4 has demonstrated effects on macrophage polarization, mitigation of liver injury, enhancement of axonal regeneration, and alleviation of hyperglycemia. It also plays roles in embryonic development, tooth morphogenesis, and the maintenance of odontoblast phenotypes.
