Fibrobody miRNA inhibitor conjugate is an experimental therapeutic candidate being developed by Linxis Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of kidney fibrosis. The drug utilizes the company's proprietary Fibrobody platform, which consists of high-affinity nanobodies (antibody fragments) that specifically target Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Beta (PDGFRB). PDGFRB is a marker that is significantly overexpressed on activated myofibroblasts, the primary cells responsible for the excessive production of extracellular matrix in fibrotic organs. By conjugating a microRNA (miRNA) inhibitor to the Fibrobody, the platform is designed to deliver the genetic payload directly to fibrotic kidney tissue. This targeted approach aims to modulate the fibrotic process at the molecular level while potentially minimizing systemic side effects. The program is currently in the discovery stage of development.
