Fibrobody Small Molecule Conjugate (IPF) is an experimental targeted therapeutic being developed by Linxis Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). The drug candidate is built upon the proprietary Fibrobody® platform, which utilizes high-affinity antibody fragments (VHH or nanobodies) to specifically target Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Beta (PDGFRB). PDGFRB is a cell-surface receptor that is highly upregulated on activated myofibroblasts, the primary cells responsible for the excessive extracellular matrix deposition characteristic of fibrotic diseases. By conjugating a therapeutic small molecule payload to the PDGFRB-targeting Fibrobody, the agent is designed to deliver the treatment directly to the site of pulmonary fibrosis, potentially enhancing local efficacy while reducing systemic toxicity. The program is currently in the discovery stage of development.
