Drug intelligence / Profile preview
FibroZyme is a topical enzymatic debriding ointment developed by Fibroheal Woundcare Pvt. Ltd. for the management of necrotic tissue in acute and chronic wounds. The formulation contains papain, a proteolytic enzyme derived from *Carica papaya*, and urea, which serves as a denaturant to expose protein linkages, making them more susceptible to enzymatic digestion. FibroZyme is designed to selectively liquefy non-viable tissues, such as slough and necrotic debris, without harming healthy, viable tissue. It is indicated for use in various wound types, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers, varicose ulcers, burns, and post-operative wounds, providing a non-invasive alternative to mechanical or surgical debridement.
