Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ficlatuzumab + cytarabine is a combination therapy under investigation for the treatment of relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Ficlatuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that inhibits hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), targeting the extracellular HGF/c-Met pathway to prevent stimulation of tumor growth, while cytarabine is a cytotoxic antimetabolite chemotherapy that inhibits DNA synthesis. This combination aims to overcome poor outcomes in patients refractory to standard cytarabine-based therapies by providing synergistic anti-leukemic activity. The regimen has demonstrated a favorable safety profile and a promising complete response rate in phase Ib clinical studies[1][3][7].
